Blessed Lucy Bufalari of Amelia

Blessed Lucy is an example of God’s love for the young.

Lucy Befalari, a native of Castel Porchiano, Amelia (Terni), Italy, is reputed to have been the sister of Blessed John of Rieti.

Lucy belonged to a community of Augustinian tertiaries in Amelia, became the superior , and died there at a young age on 27 July 1350. Her feast day attests to the devotion given to her by the faithful in Amelia and other Umbrian towns, where her intercession was invoked chiefly for children who suffered from illness or possession.

Her body is preserved in the former Augustinian church of Amelia. Her memory is celebrated by the Augustinian Family on 27 July.
