Litany of the Sick and Suffering

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.

God, the Father of Heaven,
have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
have mercy on us.
God the Holy Spirit,
have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, One God,
have mercy on us.

Jesus, the Divine Physician,
have mercy on us.
Jesus, who healed the sick and comforted the suffering,
have mercy on us.
Jesus, who bore our suffering on the Cross,
have mercy on us.
Jesus, full of compassion for the afflicted,
have mercy on us.
Jesus, who restores health and gives peace,
have mercy on us.

For all who are suffering in body, mind, or spirit,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those who are afflicted by illness,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those who suffer from chronic pain,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those with cancer and terminal diseases,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those who suffer from depression and anxiety,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those who are isolated by illness,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For the caregivers and loved ones of the sick,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those who are in hospitals and nursing homes,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those undergoing surgery or medical procedures,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those who are suffering from addiction,
Lord, hear our prayer.
For those who suffer emotionally,
Lord, hear our prayer.

For the healing of the sick,
We pray to the Lord.
For comfort for the suffering,
We pray to the Lord.
For strength and perseverance in times of trial,
We pray to the Lord.
For peace for those in distress,
We pray to the Lord.
For the grace to accept God's will in our suffering,
We pray to the Lord.
For trust in God's loving care,
We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, You know the pain and suffering of all Your children. We ask that You look with mercy on those who are sick and suffering in body, mind, or spirit. Grant them healing according to Your will and give them the strength to endure their trials with faith and hope. May they experience Your loving presence, comfort, and peace. We also pray for their caregivers, that they may be strengthened in their service. Through Your intercession, may all those who suffer find healing and consolation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
