β’ Tied to a pole and shot with arrows on the road in Almeria, Spain
Blessed Pietro Ernandez, a Mercedario with many divine gifts, especially languages, went to convert many infidels. For the love of Christ and the Gospel, he was torn apart along the public roads in Almeria (Spain), with fiery tongs, then tied to a pole which was pierced with arrows by the tyrant, receiving a noble triumph and earneding the crown of the saints.
The Order celebrates him on March 1.
