He entered the seminary of Saint-Sulpice in Paris and was ordained a priest on December 21, 1811. Ministry and Missionary Work Eugene began his ministry in Aix-en-Provence, where he was deeply moved by the spiritual and material poverty he witnessed. He dedicated himself to serving the poor, the youth, and the neglected, often preaching in Provençal, the local dialect, to reach those who were marginalized by society.
