Through your patience in enduring many sufferings, help me to accept with submission all the trials that God may send my way. Just as you miraculously escaped unharmed from the waters of the Tiber, where you were cast by your persecutor, may I also pass through the waters of tribulation without harm to my soul.

O pure Virgin and holy Martyr, look down from Heaven with pity on your devoted servant. Comfort me in my afflictions, assist me in times of danger, and most of all, be with me in the hour of my death. Watch over the Church of God, pray for its growth and prosperity, the spread of the faith, the Pope, the clergy, the perseverance of the faithful, the conversion of sinners, and the relief of souls in purgatory, especially those dear to me. O great Saint, whose victory we celebrate on earth, intercede for me so that I may one day see the crown of glory you received in Heaven and forever praise Him who so generously rewards the sufferings endured for His love during this short life.

Day 5 - August 6
O Virgin and Martyr, St. Philomena, you made a vow of virginity and remained faithful to it until death, offering your life to Jesus. Your purity was your greatest virtue. I pray to you to help me in my struggle to be chaste and pure. In today's world, with media influences that promote sex outside of marriage as good and acceptable, staying pure is challenging. May your example inspire me, and especially the youth, to treat our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. Help me learn to dress modestly and simply so that I may lead others to live this virtue.

O Virgin and Martyr, St. Philomena, you patiently endured all sufferings and sacrifices, understanding that the glories of this world are mere vanity. You were not attached to anything or anyone, always keeping your eyes fixed on eternity. Help us to live the virtue of detachment, so that we may be ready to do anything Jesus asks of us. Teach us to distance ourselves from the fleeting happiness and successes of this life, so that we may learn to look forward to the eternal joy of Heaven. We ask you, dear saint, to help us develop a heart that is attached only to God.

O St. Philomena, you received help from Jesus and the special grace of perseverance when you were tortured and put to death. That grace, the gift of courage, enabled you to boldly declare your willingness to die for your faith, proving that God never abandons His children. Sometimes, I doubt God's presence in my own life; during difficulties, I am quick to complain of His absence. Help me understand that God cares for me, anticipates my needs, and protects me from danger. Guide me to trust in God and surrender myself entirely to His will.

Day 8 - August 9
O dear St. Philomena, you lived during a time when Christians were severely persecuted, hunted like animals. Like the first Christians, you found comfort in the company of your fellow believers, sharing the Eucharist in the catacombs. You received the Body and Blood of Jesus with devotion, knowing that He alone could help you endure the persecutions. I ask you, my dear saint, to help me cherish the Eucharist and receive Jesus daily through Holy Communion. Bless also my brothers and sisters, especially those who are sick and unable to receive Jesus daily. May Jesus' presence help them bear their sufferings.

Day 9 - August 10
O dear St. Philomena, you encountered Christians who, under severe torture, were unable to stay strong and sometimes renounced their faith temporarily or surrendered holy books to Roman soldiers. You welcomed these Christians, understanding their weaknesses, and did not condemn them. You continued to pray for and with them. I pray, dear saint, that you help me develop a spirit of understanding that prevents me from condemning others. Inspire me to work for unity and peace in our communities, especially in our parishes.
