Marian Devotions and Apostles

Blessed Virgin Mary – Hail Mary, Memorare, Hail Holy Queen

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with thee;
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,
that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray:
Almighty and eternal God,
who by the co-operation of the Holy Spirit,
didst prepare the body and soul of the glorious Virgin-Mother Mary,
that she might be a worthy habitation of Thy Son;
and that by the operation of the Holy Spirit,
in the womb of the blessed Virgin Mary,
the mighty Redeemer of the human race was conceived;
grant that we who with devout hearts celebrate the festival of the blessed Virgin Mary,
may by her merits and intercession,
be freed from all sins and dangers.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Prayer for Workers

O glorious St. Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my many sins; to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an honor to employ and develop, by means of labor, the gifts received from God; to work with order, peace, moderation, and patience, never shrinking from it through weariness or difficulty; to work, above all, with purity of intention and detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account which I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of evil done; to work, as the Lord has commanded, that I may restore the divine likeness in myself, and make myself a temple of the Holy Spirit, and an heir of heaven. Amen.

May St. Joseph's intercession and guidance inspire workers everywhere to find dignity and purpose in their labor.

O glorious St. Paul, who from a persecutor of Christianity, didst become a most ardent Apostle of zeal; and who to make known the Savior Jesus Christ unto the ends of the world didst suffer with joy imprisonment, scourgings, stonings, shipwrecks and persecutions of every kind, and in the end didst shed thy blood to the last drop, obtain for us the grace to receive, as favors of the Divine mercy, infirmities, tribulations, and misfortunes of the present life, so that the vicissitudes of this our exile will not render us cold in the service of God, but will render us always more faithful and more fervent.

V. Pray for us, Saint Paul the Apostle,
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

Let us pray
O God, Who hast taught the multitude of the Gentiles by the preaching of blessed Paul the Apostle: grant unto us, we beseech Thee, that we who keep his memory sacred, may feel the might of his intercession before Thee. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Luke 1:46-55

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.

in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.

Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the light and joy of all creation,
and You have called me to follow You in simplicity and humility.
Grant me the grace to live a life free of attachment to worldly things,
and to always seek You with a pure heart.
Help me to find joy in the simple blessings of life,
and to serve You in everything I do.
May my life reflect the simplicity and humility of Your own.
Amen.

St. Dominic – Prayer for Preachers

O Holy Father,
You called St. Dominic to be a preacher of Your Word.
Grant us the grace to follow his example in our own lives.
Fill us with zeal for Your truth,
and inspire us to share it with others through our words and actions.
Help us to speak with clarity and compassion,
and to bring the light of Your Gospel to those who are in darkness.
May we always be faithful to the teachings of Your Church,
and may our lives reflect the love and truth of Christ.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

St. Thomas Aquinas – Prayer Before Study

"O eternal and most loving God,
I thank You for the immense benefits You have bestowed upon me.
I humbly ask You, through the intercession of St. Thomas Aquinas,
to grant me the grace to understand what I am about to study,
and to illuminate my mind with the light of Your wisdom.
Help me to seek knowledge that is true,
and to use it to serve You and my neighbors.
Guide me in my work, so that I may understand the truths of this world
and the eternal truths of Your kingdom.
May my studies increase my love for You
and my desire to follow Your will.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen."

St. Bonaventure – Prayer for Theological Insight

"O most high, eternal God,
I humbly kneel before You,
seeking the gift of wisdom and understanding.
Enlighten my mind with Your truth,
so that I may contemplate Your mysteries
and approach them with humility and reverence.
Grant me the grace to study Your Word
with a heart full of devotion,
and to see beyond the surface of things
to the profound reality of Your love and salvation.
Help me to grow in knowledge,
so that I may live by the wisdom You provide,
and use my learning to build up Your Church and bring glory to Your name.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen."

St. Catherine of Siena – Prayer for Unity in the Church

"O eternal God,
You who are the true peace,
the supreme unity,
grant us the grace to live in harmony with Your will.
We pray for the unity of Your holy Church,
that all who call themselves Christians
may be one in faith, hope, and charity.
In Your mercy, heal the divisions that tear us apart,
and help us to be instruments of reconciliation
through the light of Your truth.
May we, as members of Your Body,
remain faithful to Your teachings,
and strive to bring all souls into the embrace of Your love.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen."

St. Teresa of Avila – Bookmark Prayer

"Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing,
God never changes.
Patience achieves all things,
Whoever has God lacks nothing,
God alone is enough."
