Reflection - St. Andrew Apostle, first called - Protocletus in Greek - first to follow Christ, before Peter. For us who think we are second, not first - Andrew first called shows God calls first those humble. For us who wait to be called - Andrew was fishing when called, we fishing in work when Christ calls come follow. For us families - be first called, respond first as Andrew.
Prayer: O St. Andrew, first called, Protocletus, thou who first followed Christ, obtain for us who feel second, last, grace to be first called and to respond first, leaving nets to follow Christ.

Reflection - Andrew after finding Messiah, first thing - went and brought brother Peter to Christ, saying We have found Messiah. For us who find Christ and keep to self - Andrew shows first thing after finding Christ is bring brother, family. For us who evangelize strangers before brother - Andrew brought Peter, his brother, first. For us families - first evangelization is bring brother, sister, husband, wife, saying We have found Messiah.
Prayer: O St. Andrew, who after finding Messiah first brought brother Peter saying We have found Messiah, obtain for us who found Christ grace to first bring our brothers, sisters, family to Christ, saying We have found Messiah.

For us fishermen, for us workers of sea, for us who work humble work - Andrew fisherman became apostle, fisher of men. For us who fish for money - become fishers of men as Andrew. For us families - teach children to fish men for Christ, not just fish for money.
Prayer: O St. Andrew, fisherman who became fisher of men, obtain for us fishermen, workers, grace to become fishers of men, catching souls for Christ.

Reflection - Andrew brought boy with 5 loaves 2 fish to Jesus, little that became much feeding 5000. For us who have little - 5 loaves, 2 fish - think too little to bring to Christ - Andrew brought little boy's lunch that became miracle. For us who think our gift little - bring to Christ as Andrew brought boy, Christ multiplies. For us families with little - 5 loaves - bring to Christ.
Prayer: O St. Andrew, who didst bring boy with 5 loaves and 2 fish to Jesus, little that became much, obtain for us who have little grace to bring little to Christ that He may multiply.

Reflection - Greeks, Gentiles, wanted to see Jesus, came to Philip, Philip told Andrew, Andrew brought Greeks to Jesus. For us Gentiles - Andrew is our apostle who brings Gentiles to Jesus. For us who must bring foreigners, outsiders to Jesus - be Andrew who brings Greeks, Gentiles. For us families - welcome Greeks, outsiders, bring them to Jesus as Andrew did.
Prayer: O St. Andrew, who didst bring Greeks, Gentiles to Jesus, obtain for us Gentiles grace to be brought to Jesus, and for us to bring Gentiles, foreigners, outsiders to Jesus as thou didst.

Reflection - Andrew preached in Greece, Scythia (Russia), far places. For us who stay home, not preach far - Andrew far apostle, went to Scythia, to Russia, to Greece. For us missionaries who fear far - Andrew went far. For us families - our preaching must go far as Andrew - beyond home, to far places, to Greece, Scythia of our lives.
Prayer: O St. Andrew, who didst preach in Greece, Scythia, Russia, far apostle, obtain for us who stay near grace to preach far, to go to far places for Christ.

Reflection - Andrew crucified on X shaped cross, not same as Christ's, said not worthy to die same as Christ. For us who want same glory as Christ - Andrew humble, not worthy same cross, chose X cross. For us who bear crosses X shaped - different, humble crosses - Andrew's X cross is our cross, humble, not same as Christ's but united. For us Scotland, Greece, Russia who have Andrew's cross as flag - Andrew is patron.
Prayer: O St. Andrew, crucified on X shaped cross, humble not worthy same as Christ, obtain for us grace to bear our X crosses humbly, not worthy same as Christ, but united to His.

For us families on cross - preach from cross, convert from cross.

Reflection - Final day - Andrew first called, among last to die? But first in calling. For us final - first called to follow must be faithful till final call to die. For us who placed intentions - Andrew first called who brought Peter, who brought loaves, who brought Greeks, who preached from cross two days, intercedes. For us who want to be first called - be last faithful, as Andrew first called was faithful till X cross, preaching two days, bringing many to Christ even from cross, that we may be with Andrew who first found Messiah.
Prayer: O St. Andrew, Apostle, first called, Protocletus, who didst bring Peter, loaves, Greeks to Christ and preached two days from X cross, on this final day obtain for us all favors we asked and grace to be first called and last faithful, to bring brothers, little, Gentiles to Christ, and to preach from our crosses till death, that we may find Messiah with thee.
