GOD'S FAVORITE PRESENT

"There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents." - Luke 15:7

What gift can you give to God who has everything? Paul answers today. He had everything a religious person could want - family, heritage, zeal, perfect observance of the law. But he says, "Whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord."

Knowing Jesus is better than everything else.

And what makes God's heart joyful? Jesus tells us. The Pharisees were complaining, "This man receives sinners." And Jesus says, yes, and heaven throws a party when one sinner comes home. A shepherd finds one lost sheep and carries it on his shoulders rejoicing. A woman finds one lost coin and calls all her neighbors.

God's favorite present is your repentance. Your small return to Him. When you say sorry, when you let Him find you - you are making heaven rejoice.

You may feel you have little to offer today. But you have the one thing God loves most - a heart that comes back to Him. Give Him that today and let your heart rejoice too.

Prayer: Father, I give You my heart today. I count all else as loss just to know Jesus and make heaven rejoice.
