Built on the Apostles - Dwelling of God

"You are fellow citizens with the saints and domestics of God, built on the foundation of the apostles." - Ephesians 2:19-20

Today we celebrate Simon the Zealot and Jude, brother of James, two of the Twelve whose names are remembered in heaven.

Before choosing them, Jesus went out to the mountain and spent the whole night in prayer to God. Then when day came, He called His disciples and chose twelve, whom He named Apostles.

His work begins in prayer, not in planning. So must yours.

Paul says you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God's household, built on the foundation of apostles and prophets, Jesus Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom all the building being framed together grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are built together into a habitation of God in the Spirit.

Psalm says their message goes out through all the earth. You are part of this building today. Stay in communion, stay in prayer.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, who prayed all night before choosing Your Apostles, teach me to pray before I act, and build me into Your holy dwelling.
