Put On the Armor of God

"Blessed be the Lord, my Rock!" - Psalm 144:1

Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the might of His power. Put on the armor of God, that you may stand against the deceits of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, rulers of this darkness, spirits of wickedness.

Therefore take the armor - loins girt with truth, breastplate of justice, feet shod with preparation of Gospel of peace, shield of faith to extinguish fiery darts, helmet of salvation, sword of the Spirit which is Word of God, praying at all times in Spirit, watching with perseverance for all saints.

Jesus shows this courage. Some Pharisees say, "Depart, Herod wants to kill You." Jesus says, "Go tell that fox, Behold I cast out devils and cure today and tomorrow, and the third day I am consummated. Yet I must walk today and tomorrow and the day after, for it cannot be that a prophet perish outside Jerusalem. Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills prophets, how often would I have gathered your children as a bird gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not."

Don't fight people. Fight evil with God's armor, and keep a tender heart that longs to gather, not scatter.

Prayer: Lord, my Rock, clothe me today with truth, justice, faith, and Your Word, that I may stand firm and gather others under Your wings.
