He Who Began a Good Work Will Perfect It

"He who has begun a good work in you will perfect it unto the day of Christ." - Philippians 1:6

Paul writes from prison to the saints in Philippi, with bishops and deacons - "I thank my God in every remembrance of you, always in all my prayers making supplication for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the Gospel from the first day until now. Being confident of this, that He who has begun a good work in you will perfect it unto the day of Christ Jesus. I have you in my heart... I pray that your charity may more and more abound in knowledge and understanding, that you may approve the better things, sincere and without offence unto the day of Christ, filled with fruits of justice through Jesus Christ, unto glory and praise of God."

That is your confidence today - God will finish what He started in you.

Jesus enters the house of a chief Pharisee on Sabbath to eat, and they watch Him. Before Him is a man with dropsy. Jesus asks lawyers and Pharisees, "Is it lawful to heal on Sabbath?" They are silent. He heals him and sends him away, saying "Which of you having an ass or ox fall into a pit will not immediately draw him out on Sabbath?" And they could not answer.

Love cannot wait for a convenient day. Do good today.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your good work in me. Make my love abound more and more and give me courage to do good today.
