Saint Severino Gallo was a devout Mercedarian Friar who lived during the 17th century in Spain. His life was marked by his unwavering commitment to the Christian faith and his dedication to the mission of rescuing Christian captives from Muslim captors.

Born in Spain, Severino Gallo entered the Mercedarian Order, which was renowned for its mission of ransoming captives. He wholeheartedly embraced this mission and embarked on numerous journeys to North Africa to negotiate for the release of Christians held in captivity.

Severino's courage and selflessness in the face of danger were evident as he risked his life to free others. However, his efforts attracted the attention of Muslim authorities, and he was eventually captured and subjected to persecution because of his Christian beliefs.

Despite facing imprisonment and the threat of death, Severino Gallo remained steadfast in his faith, refusing to renounce Christianity. His unwavering devotion made him a symbol of inspiration within the Mercedarian Order and beyond.

Ultimately, Severino Gallo was martyred for his refusal to abandon his faith, becoming a revered figure in the Catholic Church.
