You Are God's Temple
"You are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you." - 1 Corinthians 3:16
Today we celebrate not a saint but a building - the mother church of Rome, St. John Lateran. Why? Because buildings matter, but what they point to matters more.
Ezekiel saw water flowing from the temple that brought life everywhere it went. Where the river flowed, everything lived and bore fruit. The psalm says, "The waters of the river gladden the city of God."
Jesus reveals the true Temple is His own Body, risen after three days. And through Him, you are God's building. You are God's temple, and the Holy Spirit lives in you.
That is why Jesus cleanses the temple with zeal. He wants to cleanse your heart too - not to punish, but to make space for living water to flow from your life to others.
Let Him clean one corner today. Your life can bring healing to someone today because God dwells in you.
Prayer: Father, cleanse my heart and make me a holy temple where Your living water flows to others.
