He was born in Santa MarΓa de la Paz, of the parish of San Juan Bautista del TeΓΊl, Zac. (Archdiocese of Guadalajara), November 28, 1866. CapellΓ‘n de MatatlΓ‘n, from the parish of Zapotlanejo, Jal. (Archdiocese of Guadalajara). For 26 years he poured out the charity of his ministry in that chaplaincy, being for all a kind and selfless father who built them with his poverty, his spirit of sacrifice, his piety and his wisdom. An old companion, whom Father Flores had protected, denounced him to the cacique of Zapotlanejo and was arrested on June 18, 1927, when he was on his way to a rancherΓa to celebrate the Eucharist. He was locked in a degrading place, bound and mistreated; the cacique made him listen to music at the same time he offered him: «Hey, what a beautiful music, if you say obeying the laws, I leave you free . " Without being disturbed, the martyr told him: « I am going to hear better music in heaven ». Father JosΓ© Isabel fulfilled the word expressed several times: « Before dying to fail God ». On June 21, 1927, he was driven, at night, to the cemetery of Zapotlanejo. They tried to hang him but they could not. The chief ordered that they shoot him, but the soldier, who recognized the priest who had baptized him, refused to do so, then the executioner killed the soldier. Mysteriously, the weapons did not fire against Father Flores, so one of those assassins took out a large knife and slaughtered the valiant martyr.
